Edwardian Ball

Attending the Edwardian Ball is a long held dream of mine. I just missed the 2012 celebration, but one of these years it's going to happen!

One of my favorite daydreams to get lost in involves me constructing elaborate costumes that I will wear when I go.

I'm particularly smitten by this lady's jacket...

Have you ever atteded this event? I would love to hear about it.
Up for a 2013 pilgrimage to San Francisco?

I would be happy to spend some of that daydream scheming up a costume for you too! ;-)

I discovered the art of Liz Mamont a while back via High Fructose
I absolutely love it!

I'm also going to have to find myself a copy of Mamont's For the Ladies. It reminds me a little of Edward Gorey in its humor. Plus, I spotted some pugs!

(AND she has paid homage to one of my favorite short stories of all time, The Yellow Wallpaper so I'm definitely smitten...)

I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas and I wish you a Happy New Year!

Winter Chill

Looking for gift ideas? Take a peek in my Etsy shop. I would love it if you wanted to look around a bit and let me know what you might currently like and/or what you might like to see more of.
I want to branch out a bit and would love to hear your thoughts!

Lacing Up

It's a little early, but I've already made my first resolution for 2012: buy my first corset.
Anyone have some favorites they would like to recommend?

Le Noir Bizarre

I just read about read about the Halloween event  Le Noir Bizarre which will be taking place in my own fair city of Tacoma tomorrow!

According to the local paper it will be "a Gothic-Victorian-steampunk All Hallow’s Eve celebration Sunday at Sanford and Son Antiques."

I'm so excited that this happening here, but unfortunately I won't be able to attend as I have a prior commitment. Hopefully it will be a great success and become an annual event.

Any locals interested or planning to attend?
I would love to hear about it!

Read more about it HERE.

Gibbous

I am so enchanted by the tarnished tattered look of Gibbous. I have had thier site bookmarked for ages and love to spend a wistful hour or two gazing around thier wasteland of Victorian-inspired ragged finery.
