Abandoned

Today I'm in the mood for wandering through the ruins of forgotten old Victorian houses. Know of any?

There are so many abandoned Victorian homes in my area, I'll have to get around to taking pictures of them one of these days!

Hauntingly pretty. I always wanted to go exploring abandoned houses when I was a kid, but I was never allowed to...

So beautiful! I remember when I was a kid, there was an old farmhouse out in a field that had a big pepperwood tree growing up through the middle of it. How I wish I'd gotten a photo of it.

It's so sad to see those beautiful old houses gone to ruin. That bottom one probably just became too expensive to maintain and run. What a shame that no one came in and turned it into a business or museum.

Wonderfully creepy and beautiful places!

For out and out horror, I recommend searching for "Cane Hill Asylum" - its in England, very Gothic and utterly terrifying!

The site which has the best pictures, if of interest, is called "Abandoned Britain".

The abandoned Britain website looks amazing! I will probably spend a great deal of my afternoon there. Thanks for the tip! I'm quite thrilled to see your comment here as your shop was one of the first Steampunk Etsy shops I discovered a while back. I'm a big fan of your work. So beautiful!

Thanks, I really appreciate your comments about my work!
Cane Hill Asylum is very creepy, I don't think I'd ever be able to explore those kinds of places...
If I find anymore, I'll send them your way ;)
I'm subscribing to your site - you have clearly discovered a lot of highly interesting material!

Lora: So happy to have you here! I think the next post will definitely have to feature some of these delightfully creepy places. Nothing quite like the exploration of such locations from the safety of my laptop in my living room... ;-)
